Steven Eugene Corino (born May 29, 1973 ) is a Canadian semi-retired professional wrestler currently signed with WWE as a trainer and producer for their developmental territory NXT. At that time Corino was one of the few guys who was moving forward with his career rather than promoting himself as an ECW veteran. I can see why some of the old ECW fans didn't really like that time. If I'm not mistaken he was office in Zero-1 during this time, Pretty much responsible for all of their foreign talent and the guy who brought Punk and Joe to Japan because of it, New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast, More posts from the SquaredCircle community, Looks like you're using new Reddit on an old browser. Pretty much every ECW tape i bought back in the day featured this guy.. From Timeline History of ECW 2000 with Justin Credible - Justin Credible on "King of Old School" Steve Corino in ECW His stock was on the rise, especially in Japan and he was also involved in a hugely underrated muti-year feud in ROH with Homicide. In a shoot interview he said he wrote around 5 weeks of TV for them when they started the new ECW but his stuff wasn't used and they stopped calling him a few weeks later. Definitely would have taken him over Taz or Mike Adamle or whoever the hell else worked on commentary during that time. He would talk about it almost every episode, whilst comically begging WWE for a job. He is best known for his time in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and Ring of Honor (ROH) under the ring name Steve Corino. He had talks with them in 2007. He's said himself in shoot interviews that to rely on the ECW novelty would have been a step backwards for him. Bevor er mit dem Wrestling begann, schloss Corino an der Villanova University in „Business Administration“ ab und arbeitete zeitweise auch als Milchmann. I think he had tryouts as a few things. ECW on TNN Steve Corino w/ Jack Victory vs New Jack - YouTube At the time it seemed very "too much too soon" for him, he went from midcarder to top champ in a couple of months and it didn't realy work. I assume a lot of them didn't like the year of 2000 for ECW in general....? Didn't work out for whatever reason. Haven't gotten up to the main yet but the first 30 minutes of that show was pretty shit. At that time Corino was one of the few guys who was moving forward with his career rather than promoting himself as an ECW veteran. Corino said himself that he feels too oldschool for the company, and off/on topic, he's a forgotten man in the list of "great dudes who never competed in the wwe". Bereits am 1. They saw him more as a commentator than an in ring competitor, from what I remember? His son Colby was also quite young at the time and raising him was a major priority for Steve. I remember his bleeched blonde hair getting soaked in blood in practically every match.. Corino wurde als älterer Bruder der Wrestlerin Allison Danger geboren. By 2006, he had a big gut and tits. Juni 1995 durfte Corino bei PCW seinen ersten Titel gewinnen und ihn auf den Tag genau 3 Monate behalten. April 1995 bei der IWA Mid-South. When i look back at the orginal ECW Corino was defo a big part. I don't think he would have worked as a serious competitor. Sein Wrestling-Debüt gab Corino am 6. His title reign is also associated a lot with the fall of ECW, a lot of people didn't like that time where him and Credible were champions. He is overall a three-time world champion in major professional wrestling promotions. According to his old podcast, the XOC Podcast, he's been Benoit'd by the WWE. Main event was a 4 way match for the title....Corino/Credible/Sandman/Lynn. Wrestler, announcer, creative, etc. I really liked The King of Old School in 2000. Dusty Rhodes … Dusty Rhodes got him some tryouts a few years later in WWE but it was clear to him that he wasn't a good fit for them as a "sports entertainer" and he preferred continuing to be a "pro wrestler" even it meant remaining in smaller companies. Looking back, I'm gonna guess that he's glad he wasn't a part of it. He's said himself in shoot interviews that to rely on the ECW novelty would have been a step backwards for him. Side note ; Ball Mahoney was main eventing house shows. He had a few try out matches if I remember, so they did take a look at him. Corino would have been a good manager/commentator though. I was watching November To Remember 2000 last night. As far as not being on ECW reunion stuff, I think a lot of old ECW fans disliked him. Wasn't all his fault though, he never got the chance to legitimise his run by defending against an established main eventer like Sabu, etc. I can understand Credible being a bad champ, but looking back on Late ECW he and Jerry Lynn were the best damn things they had going at the time.
