You have to remember, having separate devices for routing, switching, and wireless AP's is 3x's the cpu's handling their own processes rather than 1 cpu handling 3 different functions. However if you are looking to replace a router, consider pfSense. Once my new AC-Lite was online and the modem's wifi turned off everything was perfect. The main bottleneck that i'm worried about is the TV, since it needs at least 150 mbps to reliably stream 4k content from the server. I would use pfSense as a router and Ubiquiti for their APs. If you have one or two, you can configure without a controller, via the phone app. the thing just works and damn well too.
