pour le film j'ai pas de Regrets c'est une très belle histoire ce n'est pas en français mais sous-titré français malgré tout on comprend l'histoire je recommande ce DVD Salman Khan's rol a little bit on the baffoon side while John Abraham's was great. So this movie with the help of Salman Khan (the most popular Bollywood star) and Amitabh Bachchan (who is kind of like the "Pope" of Bollywood cinema) attempts to change the cruel cultural and religious treatment and attitudes about the fate of widows.
A story of a family, not that attached to Indian harmful traditions (the condemnation of widows to obscurity), whose son passes away and decide that their daughter in law has the right to be happy again.
The only weak part was the older brother's over dramatic acting. My mother was born in a time when some widows were burned on the funeral pyre with their husbands, and I could never understand what justified that, so I was thrilled to see a movie that openly discussed these issues.
In this one they spend the time to really make you care about the characters then pouf the male lead dies and a new guy comes into the picture. Un film pour aider l'Inde elle-même à changer sa vision de la société, notamment le regard et la place donnée aux veuves....encore aujourd'hui.
L'auteur de ce film affiche sa position contre les "satis", ces veuves qui sont mises au ban de la société, et considérées à la limite de la malfaisance ou porteuses du mauvais oeil.
People, Religions, Families, Churches, Cultures, are so steeped in keeping 'traditions' to the point that they make the living dead and traditions fully alive. Rani Mukerji always great and beautiful.

But the movie's concept was good and something that needs to be discussed more often since this still happens in a lot of societies.
