May 20, 2003 Not a GREAT movie, but definitely worth the watch for sure. This movie is such a light-hearted and fun movie.

Silly fun.

It has two big stars: Tim Robbins and John Cusack, as two unemployed friends who start a music video production company, and the craziness that occurs along the way.

The negative reviews puzzled me.

Tapeheads is a sophomoric attempt to satirize the music video business. The negative reviews puzzled me. John Cusack and Tim Robbins star as Ivan Alexov and Josh Tager, security officers who lose their jobs and decide to put together their own company producing videos. All. A graduate of New York's High School of the Performing Arts and the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, Walter's extensive theater credits include productions both on- and off-Broadway. Stumbling through the music industry is what the story is about. Even without this external factor, it feels like a film out of time.

| Rating: 3/5 Anyone who could watch Josh and Ivan (slackers) (Tim Robbins and John Cusack) making a video of Cube Squared's "Baby Doll" and not laugh is missing a humor gene. May 26, 2006 Tim Robbins and John Cusack are an iconic duo. The whole movie is basically a combination of a music video and a cartoon for about 80-90% of the film completely over the top but again in a good way. This movie is another buddy 80's movie and if you don't enjoy those then you probably won't like this. November 14, 2003

Great comedy film about 80's music video production. Anyone who could watch Josh and Ivan (slackers) (Tim Robbins and John Cusack) making a video of Cube Squared's "Baby Doll" and not laugh is missing a humor gene.

It does have a lot of heart and Mike Myers pretty much stole this idea for Wayne's World and gets ZERO credit.

The irony is that nothing Fishman and his cohorts have come up with is really as funny as a two-hour slice of MTV itself. The negative reviews puzzled me. High resolution official theatrical movie poster for Tapeheads (1988). It's the kind of harmless breezy film that's easy to take on late night cable TV when you don't feel like using your noodle. Please try againSorry, we failed to record your vote. Cusack & the 80s are like bread & butter. Vom Regisseur Bill Fishmann habe ich vor "Tapeheads" noch nie etwas gehört. Watchlist. A breezy and agreeable if hilarity-free oddball comedy starring Tim Robbins and John Cusack, Tapeheads barely received a theatrical release in 1988, mostly due to its timing. Tapeheads was made in 1988 and is about the start of the music video genre and two slackers' efforts to break into the business.
